Constantine I, 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.11 g, 12 h), Rome, circa 320. CON-STANT-INVS AVG Helmeted, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine I to left, seen from behind, holding spear in his right hand and shield in his left. Rev. VIRTV-S AVGG / P - R / R P Campgate with open doors and four turrets. RIC -. Extremely rare, and with a wonderful portrait and a rare gate type. Minor areas of weakness and with a small flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

This extremely rare piece is one of only two coins known with this obverse bust for the 'four turrets, open doors' reverse.
